Abstract

In our modern life today, exercise is becoming less and less important. Our everyday life is becoming more and more comfortable with the use of modern tools and techniques, but the imagined ideal life is hampered by rush and haste. This finding is relevant to all ages, and higher education students are no exception. The aim of our research is to give the subjects a realistic picture of their own current basic movement patterns. In the study, we surveyed the students of the Teacher Training Faculty of the János Neumann University of Kecskemét (n = 108) in the spring of 2019. In our research, we used the Internationally Validated Method, Functional Movement Systems. The 7-filter procedure was developed by American therapist and coach Gray Cook based on movement patterns that provide the “building blocks” for the most basic movements. We used a quantitative method and basic statistical procedures to process the data. Based on the results, it can be stated that the components of the basic movement patterns of the studied students were varied, but the results were above average. The highest score was represented by extended leg lift, while the weakest value was represented by rotational stability.
