Abstract

Spending time in nature has positive effects on physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Green spaces promote physical activity, improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress, and strengthen the immune system. Mentally, they enhance concentration, decrease anxiety and depression, and foster psychological resilience, while supporting flow experiences. On a spiritual level, natural environments encourage deeper self-reflection, inner calm, and a sense of transcendence, strengthening our connection to nature and promoting environmental responsibility. Outdoor recreation, particularly forest bathing (shinrin-yoku), involves mindful engagement and sensory experiences, supporting physical and mental restoration, stress reduction, and self-awareness. Forest bathing thus serves as a recreational, preventive, and therapeutic practice, helping maintain mental balance amidst the fast pace of modern life.
