Abstract

Almost everyone, without exception, knows movies about sports. The main virtue of these films is that they could set an example to follow. Many films are based on true stories, each telling a life story. In addition to the beauties of sport, the difficulties that surround a sports career are also partially presented in sport movies. Another positive effect of these types of films is that they encourage movement after a passive activity. With a gap-filling, unique research, we tried to map the consumption structure and their relationships with possible influencing factors through the example of sports films. It can be concluded that some of the sports movies, thought to be well-known, are actually well-known (such as ‘Chariots of Fire’), and specifically, in relation to running, ‘Forrest Gump’. A connection can be discovered between the popularity of sports documentaries and the sports habits of moviegoers, but the frequency of sports does not affect viewing of sports broadcasts. Based on the test sample, sports films do not clearly encourage the viewers to play sports.
