Abstract
Looking back at the pandemic period of the past few years, almost all of us have experienced the feeling of loneliness and isolation. The pandemic period was characterized by confinement and the daily rhytm has changed. We could move less and the opportunities to do different activities became rarer. As a result of confinement and limited opportunities for movement, locomotor functions have decreased. The lack of social relationships may have resulted in the narrowing of emotional functions for many. Isolation also affects the elderly in our country. In this study, we would like to address everyone, both professionals working in the helping profession and members of society, to jointly support increasing the social activity of the older age group in order to avoid loneliness and isolation. There are many program opportunities for the older age group as well, where they can connect with peers who encourage movement, learning, conversation, and creativity. The authors primarily represent the professional aspects of physiotherapists in this study. The article focuses on the topics of movement, meditation, breathing, and conscious presence in order to draw attention to the importance of self-reflection, self-knowledge, self-love, and looking inward in terms of well-being and health.
