Abstract

Research on the microbial ecosystem living with the human body has been a rapidly evolving field of science since the turn of the millennium. Water polo is one of the strength-endurance sports in terms of performance characteristics.

Since both high- and low-intensity acyclic forms of movement appear, proper carbohydrate intake is very important, of which the competitor gains a portion of the energy. Protein and fat intake should be adjusted according to recommendations (Santos et al., 2014). In order to accurately assess the nutritional knowledge of athletes and the impact of nutritional knowledge on eating, further methodologically appropriate research is needed (Kiss Anna et al., 2018).

By regularly replenishing the microbial population in a near-natural form, physiological processes that can contribute to maintaining high physical performance and concentration, making high metabolism of elite athletes efficient and through them outstanding sports performance and stabilizing biological and chemical parameters identifiable and measurable in the background are also beneficial.
