According to a survey carried out by the Hungarian Cyclist’s Club in the summer of 2020, 56% of the Hungarian adult population opts for sustainable means of transportation, such as public transport, cycling, and walking, instead of using a car (Tokár, 2020). This way, part of the essencial daily movement needs are met. In addition, this tendency can be clearly observed in the Hungarian tourism as well with the rising number of cycling tourists. In this article, we will introduce the pedelec (pedal electric cycle) as one of the possible alternatives for leaisure time activities. We will review in detail the main aspects of choosing the right pedelec, as well as the most important information on how to organize a perfect pedelec tour.
